" I have been working with Manuel Quintana both live and in the
studio for several years now. I love Manuel's creativity and
his input is always welcome. Having spent many years down in
New Orleans I'm a bit of a groove snob so I'm grateful whenever we have the opportunity to work together. "

—Malcolm Burn, Grammy Award-winning producer whose work includes: Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Iggy Pop, Daniel Lanois, Shawn Colvin, Peter Gabriel, and more.

" Manuel Quintana is a stellar musician. Whether playing drum kit or percussion he never fails to add the perfect feel and energy to the projects he works on. I am always impressed with the creativity Manuel brings to the rhythm track and how he really listens and responds to the artist's vision. As a producer/engineer I also appreciate his attention to the sonic qualities of his instrument and his great attitude in the studio."

—Julie Last , Producer/Engineer, Coldbrook Productions. Work includes: John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Talking Heads,  Lou Reed, The Clash, Brian Eno, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Shawn Colvin, and more.

" I've had the pleasure of recording and playing music with Manuel in many situations and styles from pure pop to abstract electronic improv and everything in-between. In all situations he focuses in on the big picture of the music and does the right thing. And you can always count on some creative happy surprises too. And tight to a click if that's what you need. Total pro in the studio and on stage, great sound, and knows how to support a song. Engage with confidence! "

—Danny Blume, Grammy Award-winning producer, mixer, engineer, composer, and musician whose work includes: Iggy Pop, The Lounge Lizards, Gavin Friday, The Klezmatics, Jill Sobule, Level 42, Medeski Martin Wood, Jewel, Lisa Loeb, and more.

Manuel Quintana is an  in-demand drummer and percussionist based in New York's Hudson Valley, originally from Puerto Rico. His work ranges from acoustic minimalist to electronica and noise, from roots rock to Afro-Cuban and everything in between—blending styles and adding his own sound. In addition to touring and studio work with a range of artists, current projects include drumming for Rachael Yamagata, writing and performing with instrumental exploratory groove trio NEQ (with long-time collaborators Kyle Esposito on bass and Todd Nelson on guitar).   With the Duke McVinnie Band, Manuel helps to paint the landscape for the sonically twisted storytelling by Duke McVinnie (formerly of Shivaree). Manuel and Duke co-wrote "It" from the DMV Band 2014 release "9".   Performing with Robbie Dupree since 2003 and appearing on several of Robbie's albums, Manuel digs into his love of RnB's tight pocket and smooth sound.
