NEQ (Nelson, Esposito, Quintana)

Drummer, Percussionist & Producer

The Music of NEQ is kinda like: Exploratory instrumental compositions, thick grooves and Spacey encounters all in one.

Where others hear differences, they hear similarities; taking advantage of the cross currents that have always existed in music. Hudson Valley, New York based NEQ, plays Rock, Americana, Afro- Cuban, Funk and ethnic grooves, engaging the listener with a dynamic sound and a collision of musical styles. Built on the foundation of the trio NEQ, aka Nelson Esposito Quintana, expands in the studio to include other collaborators in the recording process although most pieces are still conceived as a trio.

Beatles as Boogaloo; Neil Young as Reggae; mashups of Santana, Spirit, McLaughlin; Traffic, Marley and movie themes; a beloved Spanish guitar concerto with a funk rhythm. These are some examples of musical arrangements by NEQ.

NEW album coming soon.

The Big Takeover

Drummer, Percussionist & Producer

Fronted by the charismatic Jamaican-born singer and songwriter Nee Nee Rushie, the seven-piece New York band The Big Takeover plays original music that is rooted in and reverent toward the genres and rhythms of Jamaican pop: reggae, rocksteady, ska. They are devotees of Desmond Dekker and the way the old school did it.  At the same time, The Big Takeover crosses lines and blends traditions like global pop fusionists. Their deceptively complex arrangements and big hooks connect with the spirit of Motown and the uptown sophistication of the 21st century retro soul and R&B revival scene.

NEW album “Spilling Water” coming soon.
